An Eve for an Adam

Why does getting what we need sometimes hurt so much more than not ever seeking after it? A friend once told me it’s because what we need isn’t always what we want. The pain feels so immense that you must question and even doubt how you will ever get over it. Yet, in the midst of such a shattering heart break is a sense of relief. It doesn’t make a whole lot of since at times, but it must be true… I mean, it’s what you NEEDED… right?!
I have learned to love and be loved takes more than just giving someone the heart that beats at that time. It’s not enough. You must be able to take back the heart beats that others stole; whether you willingly allowed it to happen or not. Then, you must find a way to give them the heart beats to come! LOVE is a choice that is made. And sometimes the choices laid before us are not always easy to make. However, it is worth knowing you daily, sometimes momentarily, choose to love because we were ultimately made for it! Take it back all the way to Adam and Eve. Eve was given to Adam for LOVE! Take it even further back… God created all of creation for LOVE! SO YES, I AM AN EVE THAT WAS MADE FOR AN ADAM AND I WILL LEARN TO LOVE!
