An Eve for an Adam

Why does getting what we need sometimes hurt so much more than not ever seeking after it? A friend once told me it’s because what we need isn’t always what we want. The pain feels so immense that you must question and even doubt how you will ever get over it. Yet, in the midst of such a shattering heart break is a sense of relief. It doesn’t make a whole lot of since at times, but it must be true… I mean, it’s what you NEEDED… right?!

I have learned to love and be loved takes more than just giving someone the heart that beats at that time. It’s not enough. You must be able to take back the heart beats that others stole; whether you willingly allowed it to happen or not. Then, you must find a way to give them the heart beats to come! LOVE is a choice that is made. And sometimes the choices laid before us are not always easy to make. However, it is worth knowing you daily, sometimes momentarily, choose to love because we were ultimately made for it! Take it back all the way to Adam and Eve. Eve was given to Adam for LOVE! Take it even further back… God created all of creation for LOVE! SO YES, I AM AN EVE THAT WAS MADE FOR AN ADAM AND I WILL LEARN TO LOVE!

Going Through

Have you recently gone through a time in your life where you struggled just to get through the day? Did you wonder why this was happening to you? Did you wonder where God was? Scripture tells us that God is always there and He is helping us through every situation. Be Faith in His Word, we know He is there even if we do not recognize what He is doing or how He is intervening. The scripture below gives us a promise to hold on to and a purpose to carry us through our struggles and pain.

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (The Message)

I Will Live

“I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done”. Psalm 118:17 (New International Version)

David was not saying he would never die. He was making a proclamation that his present circumstances would not result in his death. He held on to the promise of God for a long and satisfying life! (Psalm 91:16)

David did finally die, but look at how the Bible describes it.

He died at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honor. His son Solomon succeeded him as king. 1 Chronicles 29:28 (New International Version)

If you are facing illness or threat, do what David did. Start proclaiming you will live!

Is Any Sick?

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:14-15 (King James Version)

Is any sick? Some people believe it is God’s will to heal others but not them. James 4:15 says “is any sick”, not some that are sick or special people that are sick. James said “Any”! It’s God’s will that all are healed! It’s God’s will that you are healed!

Hear and be Healed

He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coast of Tyre and Sidon, who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Luke 6:17-18 (NIV)

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. John 6:63 (NIV)

People came to hear Jesus, and be healed. Sometimes all we need for physical and emotional healing is to hear the words of Jesus. Take time to hear His Words. His words are Spirit, they are Life!
